Attorney Maurice Davis, Davis Injury Lawyers, PLLC, and Rand Law, L.L.C., have announced they will represent the family of a Vicksburg pilot killed in an Ohio plane crash in December.
Robert Coles was hired to ferry a plane to Adams County, Ohio in December. He was to fly a Cessna 310 from the Branch County Memorial Airport in Coldwater, MI to the Alexander Salaman Airport in West Union, Ohio.
An investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board has revealed that the owner completed pre-flight maintenance, but no annual inspection was completed. As Coles flew to his destination, he was followed by a second pilot. The two pilots communicated throughout the flight.
According to the NTSB, the Cessna began to descend about 20 to 30 miles from its final destination before it crashed. Coles was killed from fatal injuries caused by the crash.
In their notice of representation, the firms stated Coles’ estate is seeking the immediate release of his policy limits, coverage of medical pay, and any and all other monies it is entitled to. The attorneys have requested that all parties who may have the appropriate evidence to preserve it.
Attorney Maurice Davis said this case is about getting justice for his client’s family and closure after the accident.
“Everyone is entitled to a reasonable amount of safety while at work. Our client had every right to expect a degree of safety when he started his flight. Employers must be held accountable when their responsibility is lacking,” Davis said.
“Their negligence led to our client’s death, challenging his family’s economic stability.”
